Events throughout history had always made a significant impact on culture,
traditions, trades, and dialogues. The world after the COVID pandemic will also follow the traditions of its past.
The incredible vision of human civilization making the world as one global village with no boundaries has been the path for the countries significantly post-world war and colonization era.
As it is said that the 20th century saw the rise of the western powers and the dawn of the 21st century is set to see the rise of Asia, specifically India and China, two giant nations leading its way to a new greatness.
Globalization has made a huge impact on the world economy. Rather we can say globalization is the new world economy. We cannot imagine a contemporary world with no global corporations.
Everything is set in a rhythm. Every sector in the economy works in sync with brains around the world investing in the ideas and making it count for human civilization.
We all know the world post COVID era will not be the shadow of its past rather it will change the traditions significantly in some aspects. In Fact, we can see the changes at the most individual level.
People will not now travel at a frequent scale and this may affect countries that depend upon tourist’s based economy revenue and they may see a larger dip over a long period of time.
The world will change after pandemic slowly but significantly in every direction possible. For now, we will focus on the three pillars of changes that would be political affairs, economical affairs, and geopolitical affairs of the nations.
POLITICAL AFFAIRS OF THE NATIONS:
Countries would be now conscious and ready for challenges for any future
pandemics, funds would be allocated for the emergency situations. In democracies around the world, the topic of a pandemic would be a significant matter in the context of elections.
The government would be accountable for their policies and regimes around the world, this matter would be equally important. Medical infrastructure with research and development would now be a priority of the government around the world.
ECONOMICAL AFFAIRS OF THE NATIONS:
As we can see, pandemics are a threat to an ideal global world; everything that could have been done in the pre-COVID era would may not be possible in the post-COVID era.
Countries would now want to address their issues and demands on their economical brochure by themselves with minimum help from others and this would pave the way to self-reliance for them for the future. With this, the increasing trade monopoly around the world by countries may force some nations to do so.
GEOPOLITICAL AFFAIRS OF THE NATIONS:
We saw a little rise of the Asian giants but little did what we saw has defined the major changes in geopolitical affairs around the world and foreign policies of the nations.
Rise of China on the economic front in recent decades has made him major trading partners throughout the world but its policies on various fronts are it in trade with issues like trade monopoly.
A trade war with the US, and it’s increase in border issues with the neighboring nations by encroaching their lands especially with other rising giant India, and it’s illegal maritime influence South China sea make it a global threat around the world and major powers around the world are making decisions geopolitically and on the floor of the major multilateral institution to counter it’s aggressive policies.
Above all the recent pandemic issue where China is not allowing any nation to enquire in the matter in his country for the history of the virus.
We know the best of human civilization lies in globalization. Globalization with an ethos where every nation follows rules and regulations and a world where every nation contributes to human civilization.
Pandemic will significantly impact the world but the political will of the nations would decide the fate of globalization. We can hope the world after the COVID era would be a better place for living.
