so in this we are going to review top 10 private medical colleges in India. Based on their ranking and previous achievements.

10. Amritha School of medicine :


Amritha school of medicine (AIMS) is actually located in Kochi. it has one of the largest medical facility in India spread over 125 acres of land. It is part of Health science campus of Amritha University. In 2019 NIRF (MHRD) ranked 5th best Medical college in India. Outlook ranked them as 16th in India.

The admission process to this college is NEET. The college takes 10+2 marks and NEET score in their process of admission. The fee structure for MBBS students is 18L per Annum which requires approximately 90 L .

In December 2013, the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) awarded AIMS with the ‘National Healthcare Excellence Award 2013’ for the best hospital in the country.

In September 2016, the Federation Of India Chamber Of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) awarded AIMS with two ‘Nation Healthcare Excellence Awards’. AIMS won the awards for the categories of ‘Patient Safety’ and ‘Innovation in Medical Technology.’ award.

9.Dr D Y Patil Medical College Hospital and Research Centre:


Dr DY Patil medical college (DPYMC) was established in 1996. it is located in pune. it offers undergraduate (MBBS), postgraduate (MD, MS, M.Ch, DM), doctoral (Ph.D) and fellowship courses in different areas.

NIRF ranked 24 th in medical category. it is  ISO certified institute and was the first private college in the State of Maharashtra to be approved by Medical Council of India (MCI) and Government of India. The institute is affiliated to Dr Patil vidyapith Pune.

The main reason for its high ranking is its collaborations with stanford University and many other foriegn universities. It has also collaborated with international universities like WHO for clinical trails. The fee for MBBS in this Institute is 25.8L per Annum.

8.MS Ramaiah medical college:


M S ramaiah Medical college, now renamed as Ramaiah medical college(RMC) is located in bangalore. It was established in 1979. campus have vast area of 70 acres. The admission is done in this college through NEET examination.

NIRF rank of this institute is 30. outlook 2020 ranked 21 in medicine. This institute  has been recognized globally for its contribution to medical studies and is honored by various national and international platforms. RMC has collaborations with various national and international institutes.

This institute has a lot of collaborations with many medical organizations and many universities like ILLIONIS, CURTIN. The best part of this college is it’s low fee. The fee for this institute is 17L for complete 4 years.

7. St johns medical college:

St. Johns medical college is located in bangalore.  It was set up in 1963 by The Catholic Bishops Conference Of India. Built over a massive 132 acres of land, the St John’s Medical College has consecutively received 5-star grading by the University Grants Commission and The National Assessment and Accreditation Council.

The college has been ranked 4th in a list of top 25 Medical Colleges in India by the Outlook Magazine for four years consecutively. St Johns Bangalore is accredited by the National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL). This college ranked 14 th in ranking given by NIRF.

The total fees for MBBS is approximately 27 L. There are only 150 seats in this college. The admission mode to this college is based on NEET score card.

6.Dayanand Medical College (DMCH)

Dayanand medical college is located in Ludhiana, Punjab. The college was started in 1964.t is accredited from MCI and it is affiliated to Baba Farid University . DMCH was the first hospital in punjab to set up a dialysis unit in the nephrology service in 1980.

The institution is accredited by the Medical Council of India for the MBBS course as well as several specialty and super-specialty courses. Since 1 April 2001, the Hero DMC Heart Institute (HDHI) has provided care to patients with heart and blood vessel disease.

NIRF rank of this college is 24. But the best part of this college is the total fees For MBBS is only 4.34Lakhs. There are only 100 seats for MBBS in this college. This college Alumni are wide spread all over india. The admission process is based on NEET scorecard.

5.Christian Medical College: (Ludhiana)

Christian medical college (Ludhiana) was founded in 1894. It is very old and prestigious Institute in India.  It was the first medical school for women in Asia.

The Foundation for Advancement of International Medical Education and Research (FAIMER), USA and the Medical Council of India have recognized the institution as a nodal center for faculty development. More than 1000 teachers from various medical colleges have been trained so far through these initiatives. The FAIMER regional institute holds its sessions in February every year and enrolls 20 Fellows for intensive training in educational methods and educational leadership.

The NIRF rank of this college is 18 and Outlook India ranked this college 13th . The alumni of this college is very large and some of them opened their medical institutes. The admission to this college is based on NEET . Total fees for this Institute is approx 25 lakh for MBBS. Most of the seats are reserved to Christian Minority and there are only 75 seats for MBBS in this college.

4.JSS Medical College:

JSS medical college (JSSMC) is located in Mysore, Karnataka. It is one of the prestigious college in india. The courses offered are also recognized by General Medical Council (UK), Sri Lanka Medical Council and WHO.  Since it’s start it has consistently ranked as the one of the top universities in india.

 JSS Medical College became a constituent college of the JSS University. it is is among the country’s top 5 and world’s top 500 universities as per The Times Higher Education Ranking, 2019 which also ranked JSSAHER as India’s most impactful university with an international ranking between 101-150.  JSSAHER also has a QS 4 star rating along with Autonomous Status granted by MHRD 

It is ranked 17 th by NIRF. The admission process to this college is based on NEET score card. The total fees for this college is approximately 75 lakhs.

3.Kasturba medical college: (Mangalore)

Kasturba Medical College Mangalore (KMC Mangalore) was established in 1955 as a part of the Manipal Academy of Higher Education along with other two hospitals Government Wenlock Hospital and Government Lady Goschen Hospital. KMC Mangalore got established as an independent medical college in 1977.

It was soon recognised by The General Medical Council of Great Britain, The Malaysian Medical Council and The Australian Medical Council. It also received full (AAHRPP) Association for the Accreditation of Human Research Protection Programs accreditation in Dec 2011—a first in India.

 It was the first self-financing medical college in India and it was also the first Institution of India who has followed the Public Private Partnership. The NIRF rank of this college is 20 and Career 360 ranked 3 in private colleges. The admission process to this college is based on NEET score card. The total fees for this college is 59 lakhs.

2.Kasturba medical college, Manipal


Kasturba Medical College Manipal was established in 1953.KMC Manipal is approved by the Medical Council of India (MCI) and the General Medical Council of Great Britain, the Malaysian Medical Council and Australian Medical Council. The college is a part of the Manipal University which lies with an area of over 600 acres. 

It was awarded as the best College in the Medical category at the World Consulting and Research Corporation Leaders’ inaugural Asian Education Excellence Summit in New Delhi on January 9, 2014. This college produced many world class doctors and researchers. This college has one of the best alumni in india. The college brand will be a major factor in your career.

Here comes our No-1 private college in india. As many of you guessed it. The name of the college is enough for your career because this college is considered to be one of the best in the world. The Christian Medical College, established in 1900 by missionary Dr. Ida S. Scudder, is a private university located in Vellore, Tamil Nadu.

CMC Vellore was conferred with the public Health Champion Award by the WHO (World Health Organization) in 2015.Took Platinum Awards in every category of the prestigious SKOCH Awards in 2014. In 2015 CMC won the coveted and prestigious D. L. Shah Quality Award – Gold for its Clinical Audit Programme.

The college hosts a Stem Cell Research Center, which is funded by the Indian government. A number of research programmes in CMC are funded by many national and international agencies. About 430 research articles are published in indexed peer reviewed journals in a year (the second largest number of medical research papers of any medical college in India.).

The padmashree awardee K. A. Abraham, interventional cardiologist was also an alumni of CMC vellore. This makes college very special NIRF ranked this college as 3rd and India today and The week ranked them at 2.

The college reserves 84 seats out of 100 in the MBBS course for the minority category while 16 students are open to all, 3 seats are reserved for SC/ST and OBC students. One student is selected by the Government of India. Who are wanting to apply for this college have to submit NEET scores. The best part of this college is the Total fee is only 1.6 Lakhs.
